BOYS! They never sit still. Not even for pictures for their Mama’s blog posts. Get ready to enjoy some blurry photos. See that candy bracelet? Yeah, even bribery won’t buy clear photos from this boy.
For this tour I’ve sewn up the Happy Feet Pajamas and the Jack Frost Stocking Hat. And oh my gosh, you should see this boy sleeping with his little hat on. SO FREAKING CUTE. I’d squish him, but then this blog post would end here because my boy would be awake.
Cutting fabric time factored in, I think this ensemble took me all of two hours to make. The longest part was convincing my boy to pause Octonauts on my phone so I could double check instructions and seam allowances. Because messing with a four year old and his Octonauts is never easy.
I opted not to add a tassel or pom pom to the end of Jack’s Jack Frost Stocking Hat. I showed Jack the pictures and told him my plans and he was worried it would get in his eye with “those things hanging down.” Fair enough. Tassel and pom poms got the boot.
Hahahahahaha. Oh gosh.
I made the whole ensemble on my serger. The only step that needed the sewing machine was the very last elastic install step. Boom. Serger for the win!
More bribery! He’s got skittles and a recess cup now.
Jackson was pretty involved in the whole process. He picked his fabric. Monster trucks, I think they’re actually just off road vehicles, because Monster trucks are life! He handed me pins. He watched Netflix in the chair at the sewing machine and told me my serger was making the table wiggle and to stop. He also asked me no less than a million times if I was done yet and could I make him a Deadpool stuff toy next. Um….no… He likes being involved in the sewing process. Generally when I sew for him he sticks around the sewing room the entire time. Which makes it really nice that this was such a quick sew. Also, being three pieces, it meant I could give it to him a piece at a time to calm his patience a bit.
We’re all sewing up Peek-a-boo Pattern’s pajamas, and there are sew many to choose from! See some new ideas every day by following along with the tour below:
