Welcome to the Magnificent Wizards Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents. 🎶This is Halloween🎶 I don’t know why I’m singing that song, it has absolutely nothing to do with my makes for this tour at all. And maybe it’s a bit misleading to sing it. But. It is Halloween. So, I suppose it’s appropriate.
BOOM! BATDOG! 🎶Nananananana BATDOG!🎶 Was that the appropriate amount of “nananananananas? No? Forgive me. Batdog isn’t my make for this tour. Well, not fully. He is a part of it. Also, my son says it isn’t Batdog, it’s Ace the BatHOUND, and I need to stop calling the dog BatDOG. On a side note, our dog is named Skaar, which is a Marvel character, and he’s going as a DC character for Halloween. Is that somehow sacrilegious? Will there be some sort of cosmic shift? A timeline paradox? Am I getting too nerdy? SWITCHING GEARS!
BATMAN! BatBOY? Um…. Either, or! But Laura, isn’t Batman yellow? I’m glad you asked. Jack is BATMAN BEYOND! Seriously. Know your Batmans. Batmen? Why is this so difficult?!
TA DA! Batman Beyond and his trusty sidekick Ace the Bathound. In reality, Jack’s costume isn’t fully done yet. We’ve just finished his accessories, minus his cape. He helped too! He was in charge of pressing the buttons on the embroidery machine. He LOVES helping with sewing projects, but he doesn’t get to that often. When it’s an embroidery machine job that involves pushing a few buttons, he finally gets to help.
Ace is always on the look out. Bathound is sporting some bat wings made from a Bobbin for Appliqués design. They’re technically dragon wings. But, come on. Tell me they’re not totally cool, and that Skaar isn’t rocking them. See. You can’t. I made them on my 4×4 hoop, so they’re missing some of the detailing that the bigger sizes have. I don’t even care. They’re awesome. Bobbin for Appliqués has a TON of awesome wing designs.
I think pillowcases make THE BEST trick or treat bags! Don’t you?! They hold a ton. And they’re no fuss, no muss. I had to throw a Batman mask on to a pillowcase for my mini dark knight vigilante. Oh! See that Trick or Treat door knob hanger? I made that too. Back in 2014! I cannot find it on E&Me Designs website to save my life.
Jack’s mask (same design on the pillowcase treat bag) and cuffs are in the hoop designs by Gracefully Geeky. And I’m sorry to say, but they’re retired sets. I’m so sorry. There are a ton of great mask designs on the website though. AND, there’s currently a mask sale happening until the 15th. You can get 10 masks for $20! BOOYA!
Have a happy and safe Halloween. The rest of Jack’s Batman Beyond costume is coming to a later blog post.
