Motherhood. What is the one commodity most mothers lack? Sleep!
Danny is a pro-star at swaddling our babies, which always helps them sleep longer and more soundly. I don’t know how he does it. Just with a plain blanket too. Nothing super fancy. He’s an amazing swaddler. I, on the other hand, am lame sauce when it comes to swaddling. Our babies always bust out immediately. I usually have some sort of fancy, snapping, velcroing, buttoning swaddling contraption to help me out. However, I got rid of all the baby stuff after Elle, thinking she was going to be our last. Again… So little sleep.
When Stitch Upon A Time posted the testing call for their new Swaddle Wrap pattern, I jumped at the chance to throw my hat into the pile of applicants. And I was chosen. Huzzah!!
Look at him!!
And he does sleep longer. THANK GOODNESS!!
SUAT’s swaddler wrap can be made up in knit fabrics or woven. Plain like mine, or with a knotted end. Lined, like mine, or a single bias bound layer. There are two size options available. 0-3 months and 3-6 months. Also included are the instructions and pattern pieces for a knot hat. Cute! I didn’t make one though. I didn’t make my swaddlers out of knit fabric, so my knot hat wouldn’t have matched. Lame reasoning, but it would have bugged me. If they were purchased items, probably not. But, since I was the one sewing, they’d have to match or drive me insane!
The grey version I made is a really soft quilters cotton exterior with a flannel interior. The blue animal print is a baby corduroy exterior with a flannel interior. Perfect for keeping him comfy and warm while we wait at the bus stop for Danica.
Want more sleep too? You can find SUAT’s newest pattern on their Etsy store, here. Use code Laura25 for a discount. You’re welcome! Oh, and my favourite part, check out the cute model on the Etsy ad.
As always with testing – remember, tester version may vary slightly from final pattern.
