This summer I had the opportunity to test The Uptown/Downtown Dress for Sew Straight & Gather (formerly Terri Lin Designs). You can find the pattern here, and you can “like” Sew Straight & Gather on Facebook here. I made the dress up twice for Danica. Both are made out of super stretchy slinky fabric, except the black is a glitter slinky. I made the red one first as per the instructions. The black one I nixed the bodice lining and used fold over elastic on the neckline and armholes. I didn’t hem either dress, opting to leave it raw. I love that knits don’t unravel and leaving hems raw is an option.
