My Spoils -OR- Why Doing Taxes Is A Good Thing

I posted previous about the Fabulous Fabric Frenzy put on by The G.A.N.G. But, I never followed up on that.

BAM! This is the fabric I was attempting to put away here.

Once I finally finished my taxes I found this note from Danny paper clipped to the calendar with $80 behind it.

Thank you! If I knew a reward was involved I would have finished my taxes a whole lot sooner, that’s for sure.

And all that fabric covering my couch? $78! Three huge bags full. I don’t know if you can see it, but there is also a baggie of interfacing, some lace, and some boning. I had originally filled 5 bag, with the help of my sister, Sarah. But we weeded through some of it.

Mmm. Fabric!

Oh. And I recently found out that there are Grandmother groups in Red Deer and Calgary that put on a fabric fundraising sales that support the same cause.

The Calgary group is called Ujamaa Grandmas. You can read about their group here. Their fabric fundraiser is a two day event. April 25 from 4-730pm. And April 26 from 930am-3pm. Red Deer’s sale, put on by GrandmaLink-Africa, was this past weekend.

In fact, there are Grandmother groups all across the country. You can read about them, donate, find events, and join groups here.

About manningthemachine

I'm Laura. Mama to four, and wife to one awesome guy. I'm ever so slightly sarcastic. Just a little bit. I like to quote movies, but since our house is managed by little people, most of those quotes come from kiddie shows. At least my husband generally gets the references. It makes me feel less awkward. I took sewing lessons starting at the age of 8, through the Kids Can Sew program. I took lessons for four or five years. Then I became a snotty teen and decided sewing was lame. I've repented of my ways, and enjoy sewing for my little ones. And sometimes other people. And almost never for myself. Oh hey. My blog name. "Manning The Machine." I think it's probably only funny if you know me in real life. And even then, maybe it is only funny to me. My last name is Manning. This is a blog about my sewing. Manning The (Sewing) Machine. Do you get it? Do you? No. That's fine. I think it's funny even if you don't.
